GIRL'S EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT
Girl’s education in india
India is a developing economy that is also one of the world's largest democracies. It is growing in many areas of development, which is critical to the country's development. There is a need for social development in addition to economic and infrastructure development.
Education is essential for any country's development. Women in India have traditionally been relegated to domestic duties and family care. The root cause is patriarchy; many people did not believe in educating women; instead, a female child was viewed as a burden, and marriage was the only way out. The lack of safety and security is another reason why families are hesitant to educate their daughters. Traveling at night and living on their own instils fear in both the families and the girl child. Women's rights violations are on the rise, preventing them from receiving an education. Due to a lack of funds, parents were forced to educate only the boy child, believing that he was the family's sole breadwinner, while the daughter remained at home.
Women's education has been a necessity since the country's independence. In 1848, Savitirao and Jyotiba Phule founded a school for girls as advocates for women's education. Women took part in the fight for independence. Women's education has become increasingly popular. The female literacy rate at the time of independence was a pitiful 8.6 percent. According to the most recent census, India's female literacy rate is 65.5 percent. Despite progress, India's female literacy rate remains below the global average.
In both urban and rural areas, women's education is critical. Women's education will aid in the removal of the social stigma that surrounds it. It's the key to ending social ills like female infanticide, dowry, child marriage, and harassment, among others. This will benefit not only today's women, but also future generations who will be able to live in a world where gender equality exists. Another reason they must be educated is to improve their social status and gain the respect of their families and peers. They become aware of their rights as a result of education. They can contribute financially to the household and enjoy a higher standard of living. Educating women raises their awareness of the importance of maintaining their health and hygiene. Women can contribute to the workforce, which will benefit the country's economy. Women's empowerment contributes to the nation's development.
The Indian government has implemented a number of schemes to promote women's education over the years. The following are some of the programmes Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,
Mahila Shakti Kendra (Mahila Shakti Kendra) , they are the starting of this revolution to promote girl's education
Every Indian citizen has the right to an education. We must ensure that learning is accessible to all people, not just men. Rural education is just as important as urban education in terms of empowering women across the country. On September 8th, the world celebrates International Literacy Day, which includes India. ‘Literacy and Multilingualism' was the theme for 2019.
